Mini Homeware Haul

I dream of the day when I have my own home and can decorate every inch of the house in pieces that I love. But, I still live at home with my parents so I live vicariously through my Mum. I love going homewares shopping with Mum and am always trying to convince her that she needs a new vase or a cushion to add to the million other cushions we have. I always find something to buy for my room, like a candle, new bedding or photo frames. It is a very pleasing shopping experience and definitely makes me happy!

This past week I bought a few little nick-nacks to add some life into my room. The first thing I bought were my 'Lucky Rabbits'. They come as a set and are a symbol of good luck which meant I could not turn away from these little guys. I am obsessed with rabbits and think they are just adorable on my desk.

I love to have a burning candle on my desk while I work. It de-stresses me and helps me focus. Normally I have a huge Glasshouse or Ecoya candle, but I found this Vanilla and Fig scented candle from K-Mart for $6 and it smells like heaven. The mason jar is the perfect packaging for a candle and I really cannot fault this.

The next thing I bought was this small glass box. I think this style is quite vintage, yet classic in design. I love how simplistic it is while still looking elegant with the silver detailing. I have decided to store my watches and bits of jewellery in this box on my chest of drawers and it looks great. It is great if you have some nicer pieces of jewellery and want to display them in your room. This was also from K-Mart and was a great bargain!

Weekly Jewels

If there is one thing that I think completes an outfit, it is jewellery. I am jewellery obsessed and cannot take my eyes of sparkly, shiny things. I have worked in a jewellery shop for nearly 4 years while I have been studying and it has definitely contributed to my growing jewellery box.

Lately I have been interested in semi-precious and rough stones. I love amethyst, turquoise and rose quartz crystals and have been searching for one off items that are unique. There is nothing worse than buying something that is mass produced and seeing every second person wearing the same thing.

These are some of my jewellery items that I have been reaching for this week. You can definitely see that I have been loving the crystal theme.

Rose Quartz Necklace // Bought on holidays in Maastricht, Netherlands
Najo Ring // Sterling Silver and Chalcedony Ring
Toni May Bracelet // Assorted stones including amethyst, turquoise and aquamarine

Lust List #2

If there is one thing I am addicted to, it is definitely shopping. There is always some new item that I 'must have' and I always manage to convince myself that I NEED it (I must have been a billionaire in a past life). So here is my lust list for this month, which feeds my addiction and makes me really consider the items that I want to add to my collection.

Zoeva // Rose Gold Luxury Set Brushes
Even though I have a set of MAC brushes, I can't take my eyes off these. The rose gold is to die for and there are a few brushes in this set that could definitely be useful in my collection. I love the bag it comes in aswell!

Bobbi Brown // Sand Eye Palette
I have seen this blogged about by Hello October and Vivianna Does Makeup and I am in love. It seems like a perfect day to night palette, with a mixture of everyday shades and shimmery golden tones. Definitely gives off a beach babe vibe.

Marc Jacobs // Daisy
Guilty... I have gone through about 3 bottles of this perfume and it will never get old. The black bottle is so stylish and sleek, which makes me want it even more!

MAC // Eye Kohl in Teddy
For some reason I struggle finding good quality eye kohls that apply easily from the drugstore. I can't stand it when I have to push hard on my eye for the colour to appear, and I have heard good things about this MAC product. Teddy seams like a great everyday colour, but I am not sure if I should stick with a classic black colour instead. What do you think?

What items are you lusting after this month?

Weekly Pamper Products

We all work hard and are juggling so many things at once, which means it is important to relax and treat ourselves every now and again. Once a week, I love having a pamper night, where I light a candle, put on some music and treat my body! The weather and environment can be quite taxing on our skin, which is why it is important to keep it in excellent condition.

Step 1 - Scrub
Natio // Wellness Body Scrub
I love a good body scrub to buff away any dry skin. Exfoliating your body is an important step in your skincare routine, and I aim to do a whole body scrub at least once a week. I have tried a fair few body scrubs and this Natio one has to be my favourite. It comes in a huge jar and smells divine (infused with apricot seed and pomegranate...yum). It is really grainy, as it is a sugar polish, and really scrubs away the dull, dry skin. My skin genuinely feels invigorated and refreshed after using this.

Step 2 - Hair Treatment
Organix // Vanilla Silk Serum
My hair is often something I neglect in my routine. I hate washing, brushing, styling and generally feel like a failure with my hair! I have been trying to make a conscious effort to put some nourishment back into my hair and this serum definitely helps. I apply this to the ends after washing my hair. Not only does it make the ends feel soft, it helps to tackle any knots that are troublesome when brushing through the hair. You only need a small amount too, which means this bottle will last a long time.

Step 3 - Moisturise
Marc Jacobs // Daisy Body Lotion
I love moisturising my body. I don't know what it is, but I love it. Having silky soft skin is a top priority for me and I love using this lotion on my pamper night. Daisy is one of my favourite scents and it gives a lovely fragrance to the skin.

Step 4 - Face Treatment
Swisse // Rosehip Oil
I love using Rosehip Oil on my face, as it gives so much nourishment to my skin. I had previously used a rosehip oil on a daily basis a year or two ago, but lately I have found it is too much for my skin to use it that frequently. Now, I use it as a treat for my skin on a weekly basis. I always am amazed at how quickly my skin soaks up the oil (which makes me think my skin is thirsty for it!)

The Essential Brushes

One of my favourite things in my makeup collection is my brushes. There is nothing better than applying makeup with a set of good quality brushes to enhance the look and make you feel like a pro! I have quite a few brushes, but there are four that I couldn't live without in my makeup bag.

MAC // 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush
I love using this brush to apply my foundation. It applies seamlessly and blends really easily on the face. I always prefer to apply my foundation with a brush, and this provides perfect, flawless coverage.

Real Techniques // Blush Brush
This brush is perfect for bronzer, as the shape of the brush fit perfect allow the hollows of the cheek. It is wonderfully soft and I love the feel of it when I am applying and blending my bronzer.

MAC // 129 Powder Brush
This is the perfect face powder brush in my eyes, as it is a good size and not too big. I like to apply powder with this brush to set my foundation.

MAC // 217 Blending Brush
This brush has to be my favourite eyeshadow tool. It is fluffy and densely packed with fibres, which means perfect application and blending of eyeshadow. It is great for blending into the crease of the eye.

These brushes will always be a staple in my makeup collection. If I could pick four brushes that I couldn't live without, it would definitely be these guys!

Makeup Remover That Works

As much as I love wearing makeup, one of my favourite things to do is to come home, tie my hair up, get in my pyjamas and take my face off! I love the feeling of having clean and clear skin just before bed and I think I have found the right product for me. The last month I have been using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in my night time routine, and I can safely say I am impressed.

I always used to remove my makeup with an eye remover product, followed by a face cleanser. But now, I can use a product that efficiently removes all my makeup in a few wipes. It leaves a refreshed and cleansed feel to the skin. I use a cotton pad to apply, and normally use one cotton pad for my eyes, and one for the face, which usually does the job. However, if I am wearing heavier makeup I would use 3-4 cotton pads.

I find this product to be a great night time makeup remover and cleanser, which has left my skin looking clear and healthy.

Have you used the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water?
